connecting with an old friend
Meeting up with an old friend recently brought back a flood of memories. We hadn't seen each other in almost three years, not since before COVID came into our lives. Though we hadn't stayed in touch much, I decided to reach out when I learned she was nearby. We tried to make plans before but got caught up in our busy lives, so we had to keep postponing.
Finally, we found a day that worked for both of us. We had lunch together and then hit up a karaoke spot. As we sang and laughed, we couldn't help but talk about our high school days. It hit me how much we've changed since then. In high school, we used to chat about our dreams for the future, and now, we're living those dreams independently.
Growing up has made me see how important people are in your life. I realised I hadn't appreciated my friend enough when I had the chance. She's one of the reasons I'm doing what I love today. Talking about our past got me feeling emotional. I miss the way things used to be, but I won't take them for granted anymore.
Here's some advice: Don't forget to appreciate the people who've helped you become who you are. They may be the key to your dreams coming true. As life goes on, remember the role they played in your journey.
