Poem: Love of a Youth

I close my eyes

Trying to remember

All the things that we did in our youth

We could hear the rain falling onto the grass,

We could hear the school bell ringing in the distance,

But why didn't I hear your voice, calling my name so sincerely?

I try to recall our memories

When I became to like you, I hadn't understood my feelings,

Or perhaps I didn't want to because I was confused

Only when you left did I realize how deeply I felt at the time

How could I not realize that meeting you were the best thing that ever happened to me?

Perhaps at that time, being busy smiling and crying,

Living life as if there is no more tomorrow,

Busy chasing shooting stars in the night sky,

People would eventually naturally forget,

The one who has always been there waiting for us, even in the wind and rain.

It turns out that you were the treasure I most wanted to keep,

It turns out that you were my day one,

It turns out that we were once so close,

You determined to fight the world for me, you would drench in the rain with me,

But I didn't see that,

I was blinded by all the pretends one,

In every scene, it was you all along and your pure, sincere heart.

I finally realize,

That I am so lucky to have met you,

But I have already lost the right to shed tears for you,

Yet, somewhere across the horizon that I cannot see, you spread your wings,

And meet your destined love, who sees you, how lucky of them.

I learnt,

Youth is a story about a fumbling journey,

It is beautiful in hindsight,

It is too late to thank you for the courage that you gave me, the courage to be who I am,

But I'm still grateful, and thankful,

For everything that you've done, you've given

Thank you for the love of youth you taught me,

Now I will try to live the life for the both of us.
